Procedure for Repairing Terrace Leakage/Seepage with SBR Latex
1. Surface Preparation
i. Clean the terrace slab thoroughly to remove dust, dirt, loose particles, algae, grease, or oil.
ii. Use a wire brush/scraper to remove laitance and loose mortar.
iii. Wash with clean water and allow the surface to dry partially (slightly damp, not wet).
iv. Open all visible cracks and joints into a “V” groove shape with a cutter or chisel.
2. Crack & Joint Treatment
i. Prepare a repair slurry of cement + SBR latex + fine sand in the ratio (by weight):
ii. Cement : Sand : SBR latex = 1 : 4 : 0.5 (approx., depending on product manufacturer’s recommendation).
iii. Apply this slurry into the prepared cracks and joints, filling them fully.
